If you are referred for an X-ray, CT scan, nuclear medicine or fluoroscopy procedure, you will be provided with information about the risks associated with ionising radiation before exposure.
Colleagues at Leicester's Hospitals have developed a website to help educate patients and referrers about these risks. The website explains the different types of imaging and their risks, and has individual sections for patients and healthcare professionals.
